Meopham Parish Council has been informed by the Windmill Trust that Meopham Windmill is no longer open for public viewing while structural repairs are undertaken. The parish office located at the Windmill will remain open from 9am till 12pm week days and scheduled meetings will still be held in the Windmill Chamber. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Meopham Parish Council felt it important to update parishioners following complaints received due to the reduced cutting frequency of greens and verges within the parish. Enquiries have been made to Gravesham Borough Council who have informed the parish office that 8 cuts per year are carried out on GBC owned land during the growing season with Kent Highways undertaking 6 cuts per year on KCC owned areas.
HARVEL POP UP CAFE - LATEST NEWS!
Great community spirit was shown in Harvel last Friday when the Action for Rural Communities Campervan got stuck in traffic on the M20 due to an accident and didn't make it for the event at Harvel Village Hall. We are very pleased to report that residents rallied round, lead by Sally Smith and managed to arrange their own pop up cafe at the village hall car park. See photo below.
