INFORMATION RECEIVED FROM GRAVESHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL
***WASTE AND RECYCLING UPDATE***
We’d like to say thank you for everyone’s patience while we do our best to get round to empty the bins in this snowy and icy weather. We really are doing the best we can, considering the conditions we’re working in, and we are currently working on a plan to clear the backlog of bins that haven’t been collected this week as quickly and as safely as we can.
Today (Thursday 1 March) crews will be out for the normal scheduled collections, so please put out your refuse and recycling as normal. We are anticipating running a near full service, but as road conditions remain poor in some areas there may be some disruption. We will try as hard as we can to complete all collections.
If your bin was due to be collected on Tuesday or Wednesday this week please continue to leave it out and we’ll do our best to get round to as many of these bins on Saturday. We’re just working on plans to take into account the deteriorating forecast and will keep you updated throughout the day.
Unfortunately garden waste services and some special collections such as bulky, metal and fridge collections will remain suspended and rescheduled.
We will give a further update as soon as we can on the progress that’s being made throughout the day.
We’re very sorry for any inconvenience caused and once again thank you for your understanding during this adverse weather.
Please continue to check www.gravesham.gov.uk/winter for further updates on all our services.
