Meopham Parish Council has four main standing committees, along with additional committees, sub-committees and working groups. The members of each Committee and their responsibilities are outlined below.

THE PLANNING AND PROJECTS STANDING COMMITTEE (P&P)

Responsibilities: planning policy and planning applications, procedures and appeals, community festivities, parish projects, shopping parades, parish/neighbourhood plans, parish guide, Police (crime reduction), neighbourhood Watch Schemes, library services, medical services, housing, highways and road safety, amenity/street lighting and community bus

Planning and Projects Committee Terms of Reference 

THE ENVIRONMENT AND AMENITIES STANDING COMMITTEE (E&A)

Responsibilities: Recreation ground and playground equipment, recreation and sports Facilities and Clubs, Village Halls & Community Centres,  Rights of Way, including, Village Greens, Bye-Laws, Notice Boards, upkeep and maintenance of Harvel Pond, Environmental Improvement Schemes, Trees & Community Woodland, Allotments, Village Sign and Flagpole, Grants, maintenance of bus shelters and the upkeep of the Council's external assets (other than office equipment)

Environment and Amenities Committee Terms of Reference 

THE ADMINISTRATION AND RESOURCES STANDING COMMITTEE (A&R)

Responsibilities: Internal Procedures including Standing Orders, policies, Risk Management, Emergency Plan, the financial accounts and audit arrangements, monitoring of all Standing Committee and Committee Budgets and Expenditure, Contracts, Administration Costs, office equipment, systems and software (including the website), member and staff training, publications and any other administrative tasks allocated by the Council
