Financial Assistant Vacancy – Meopham Parish Council
Meopham Parish Council is seeking to recruit a part time Financial Assistant at the Parish Office to perform the financial administration tasks for the Council. This is an exciting opportunity for a community minded and motivated individual, with relevant accounts experience, to undertake this role within a very active parish council.
Meopham is the longest village in England and is a large rural parish with a population of approximately 7000, situated within the Gravesham area of Kent. The Parish Office consists of a small team, providing support to 12 parish councillors. The Financial Assistant will report directly to the Clerk who is also the Responsible Financial Officer for the Council.
We are seeking a Financial Officer who is enthusiastic and flexible, with excellent interpersonal, administrative, financial and IT skills. Previous local government experience would be advantageous.
This is a part-time role working either from home or in the Parish Office as required, currently located at Meopham Windmill, working for 30 hours per month, therefore flexibility on the number of hours worked each week is essential.
Salary: The salary is paid in accordance with the National Joint Council (NJC) Pay Scales. LC1 (£301.20 to £381.90 per calendar month)
